returned from America in 1924 as a graduate of the American

Aviation school. He is now an instructor in the Canton

Aviation School.

Public Woloome to the Aviators.

After the arrival at Peking of Chang Hui-ch'ang and his

company the publis all deemed it a remarkable thing in the

Chinese aviation and were preparing to give the aviators a

rousing reception. The Headquarters of the 4th Army of the

1st Group of Armies were going to hold a big welcoming meeting

in a day or two. Last night Mayer do Ch'i-k'ang had a feast

served in honour of the three aviators. Among the prominent

guests present were Pai Tsung-hai and others. General Fai is

going to receive the airmen at a luncheon in his residence at

Shih Lae Liang tung this afternoon (st). Foreign military

officers will also hold a meeting at the American Legation

Quard Mrracks to receive the Chang company.

Telegram to the National Government.

As soon as they arrived at Feking Chang Hui-ch'ang and

his company sent a telegram to the National Government, which

read as follows:-

"We are greatly obliged for the reception given in our

honour when we arrived at Nanking from Canton. We left

Nanking at 7 a.m. on the 19th and cama North via Honan and

shant ang. Suddenly we came into a thick fog about midway, so

we changed our soarse to the Tientsin-Pukow Railway. When

we reached Langfang the fog forged as to land.

This morning at

8 o'clock we resumed our journey and arrived at Feking at

10.15 a.mn."
